Upon the anvil of tomorrow we must strike true

It has never been a better time, nor a worse one, to be an engineer. There is a cluster of challenges so unique and untenable, it demands innovation unseen of, yet it threatens our ability to survive to even see it.

A systemic collapse of several fundamental pillars, that were fragile to began with, is evident. Ecological, sociological, societal and existential. This serves as multi-pronged ultimate threat, and yet also the ultimate opportunity.

Enduring, intentful and creative system-design and problem-solving is the foundation upon which the 21st Century was built. So should the 22nd, if we make it. The trend should continue, improve, evolve, thrive even.

Tomorrow may welcome us if we cater to it today. The challenge of making this happen is solemnly, and eagerly, accepted.
